Are you interested in learning Python and the basics of backend development? Join our python summer camp and learn programming among apple trees with a sea view. 

The Python camp takes place in August in Österlen. The camp is organized by Pink Programming and takes place at an apple farm in beautiful Kivik, right next to the Baltic Sea and Stenshuvud national park. This camp is for woman and transgender people who wants to have a great experience, meet new people and learn programming. It does not matter if you're completely new to programming or if you have some experience with other programming languages. 

The Python camp will be an introduction course in the Python programming language. Python is a great first programming language to learn and it is one of the most popular and versatile languages out there. The days at the camp will be filled with teacher-led lessons about Python and backend development. There will also be time to cook great meals together, explore the beautiful surroundings, hang out with fun people or just relax by your self.

When and where?

Tuesday August 14 to Saturday August 18 2018 in Kivik, Skåne (detailed instructions on how to get to the camp will be sent out to the participant before the camp).

Who is this camp for? 

We welcome all women-identified, whether they are girls, aunts, ladies, cis or trans. Our events are of course also open to those who do not identify themselves as women but because of gender identity does not feel represented among programmers.

What are the prerequisites? 

We recommend this camp for you who are either: 

  • completely new to programming

or 

  • have some experience with programming but is new to the python programming  language

You will have to bring your own computer. 

What is the price? 

  • Regular price: 4900 SEK 
  • Student or unemployed : 2500 SEK 

What is included in the ticket price? 

  • Shared accommodation in a beautiful house in Kivik,with access to outdoor hot tub. 
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which we will cook together at the house
  • Daily classes in Python programming for beginners. 

What is not included? 

  • Travel costs are not included in the price. Although, we advice you to take the train to Simrishamn train station and then take bus 'SkåneExpressen 3' to Kivik Torg where will pick you up. If arriving by car we will provide you with the gps coordinates as google maps can not find the address. 
  • Sheets and towels are not included, so you will have to bring your own. 

Will everything be in English? 

The workshops will be held in English. But you don't have to speak perfect English to attend. The teachers also know Swedish and we will all do our best to make everybody feel comfortable and get the most out of the camp no matter which language you are comfortable in.
